Edith Cowan University is an extremely young university, established in 1991. The Mount Lawley campus focuses on the performing and visual arts, design, teaching, IT and business. ECU has the facilities to accommodate students from all over the world in the ECU Village. The aim of this project is to improve the student accommodation facilities within the village.

This design is focusing on the shared areas of the ECU Village. Bringing people together in a country that is not their own. This will be done by encouraging interactions between students, creating an at home feel with a fresh and modern design tailored to a young audience.

The result of this design is a space where students can eat, work and play together. I learnt the importance of designing functional and designated spaces, each offering a different use and making this a space where students want to be.
